Polem Beach

Polem beach is the southernmost beach of Goa that is situated 30 km south of Chaudi. It is a beautiful secluded stretch of white sands and rocky headlands. It is suitable for those who want to be by themselves away from the crowded areas as it is a totally isolated beach.
This is a place where South Goa beaches are finishing and Karnataka state sea coast line starts. Polem Beach is the last one beach among the number of amazing Goa beaches and the last one beach also for Canacona region (Canacona Taluk). Polem Beach resort situates 30 km from Chaudi municipal center and 27 km from one of the most famous beaches of the region.



Polem Beach is about 700 m long; this is a sickle sand bar, which ends from both its sides with steep overgrown green capes. High palm trees lined up in rows alongside the whole sea coast line. The sand here has a light-golden color; the area is quite wide. The view onto the ocean is breathtakingly beautiful: blue challenging waters of the ocean and lots of small islands which interrupt its blue surface and circling around sea birds.


Polem Beach is mainly a deserted place, so there is a huge possibility that except fisherman you won’t meet here anyone and be the only one visitor of this fantastical quite resort. But in a few shacks which you will easily find at the beach you will be able to try fresh seafood dishes, soft drinks and different refreshments.

The accommodation in Polem Beach can’t suggest its visitors and guests lots of variants to stay in: just small houses made of cane with palm leaves roofs which would cost you about 200 rupees.

The only one type of activities you can be engaged into here are usual beach entertainments: taking sunbaths and swimming in warm sea waters. This resort will perfectly suit those tourists who are planning to have a complete privacy and relaxation in the most economical conditions.The clean and unspoilt beach of Polem is good for swimming and sunbathing. One can even see a number of dolphins and white-bellied fish eagles that often come here. There is a shack found at the Polem beach where one can get some refreshments.

You can reach Polem Beach resort by municipal buses which are running from cities of Panjim/Panaji, Margao or Chaudi to Karwar city. All of them are making a stop in Polem village. Then you will need to walk about 1,5 km through rise fields. One more way to get to Polem Beach resort is to take a taxi or auto-rickshaws services. You also can reach Polem resort by motor-boat: the trip will take about 30 minutes.

    I really love the way the beaches have been described..Can you suggest a beach like Mandrem in South Goa where it is economic and yet there would be tourists from outside India.Also need good food joints and bars around like Arambol..Kind of mix bag..Appreciate your response
